DEPARTMENT OF MICROBIOLOGY

A comprehensive academic programme in Microbiology at post-graduate level has been introduced in the university since 1993 to cater to the needs of the mankind and to generate competent trained manpower in the field. Department offers Post-Graduate programmes leading to M. Sc. and Ph. D degrees. The department intends to create the center of excellence and furtherance of research in modern microbiological disciplines of regional and national priorities. The department has well equipped laboratories with sophisticated instruments like fermented, incubator shaker, UV-VIS spectrophotometer, programmable temperature controller and ovens, refrigerated micro fuse, ultra sonicator, electrophoresis system and laminar air flow system etc. the department is supported under DST-FIST programme and other major funding agencies are UGC, DST, CSIR and UPCST. The students are finding placement for further studies abroad as well as in national universities and institutions of international repute.

Eligibility of Applicants for Admission Test / Admission

B.Sc. in any discipline of Biological science with Chemistry / Biochemistry / Microbiology / Biotechnology studied for least two year during the Graduation Programme.

Mode of Admission Test

Question paper for admission test would be objective type. The question paper will contain multiple choice questions (with negative marking) from Botany, Zoology, Chemistry and modern disciplines of Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry and Environment Science of B.Sc. syllabus. The duration of test will be of two hours.
