DEPARTMENT OF MATHEMATICS & STATISTICS

Since its inception in 1985, the Department of Mathematics and Statistics has been making serious efforts to maintain its research and teaching work up-to-date. New courses, application oriented and of immense value for interdisciplinary studies have been started and more are planned. While planning expansion of programmes, the needs of Mathematics users-Economists, Social Scientists, Physicists etc. are kept in view. The importance of Mathematics, in national development, in inter-disciplinary studies and in furthering the frontiers of already developed subjects, is undisputed. The department has well equipped computer laboratory.

Eligibility of Applicants for Admission Test / Admission

For M. Sc. Mathematics & Statistics:

B. Sc with Mathematics having 50% marks for General Candidates and 45% marks for OBC/SC/ST Candidates.

For M. Sc. Environment & Mathematical Ecology:

B. Sc with Mathematics having 50% marks for General Candidates and 45% marks for OBC/SC/ST Candidates and Biology at 10+2 level is necessary.

Mode of Admission Test

Admission shall be made on the basis of admission test / Merit.

Admission will be through admission test. Test paper shall be based objective type, multiple choice questions with negative marking according to B.Sc. three-year degree course of Mathematics.
