DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE

The need for environmental education, both formal and non-formal, was keenly felt at the national level and the Government of India decided to make effort to control further deterioration of the environment due to pollution, deforestation etc.

Foreseeing the need of future, Department of Environmental sciences was established in 1994.

The Department has designed and developed various teaching, and extension programmes to cater to the needs of various Industries, Factories as well as Private and Governmental organizations. The Department has well equipped laboratories with sophisticated instruments like stack gas sampler, UV spectrophotometer, Refrigerated Incubator shaker, Ion Analyzer, Water Analysis Kit, Flame photometer, BOD Incubator, Laminar Bench etc. the major funding agencies are UGC, DST, UPCAR, Ministry of Environment and Forest and UPCST. The students are finding placement for further studies abroad as well as in national universities and institution of international repute.

Eligibility of Applicants for Admission Test / Admission

B.Sc. in any discipline of Life Sciences.

Mode of Admission Test

Question paper for admission test would be objective type designed to evaluate the candidate’s knowledge in subject. The question paper will contain multiple choice questions with negative marking from Botany, Zoology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Bio-Chemistry and Environmental Science of B.Sc. course. The duration of test will be of two hours.
